Hi There,

I would like to make a formal objection against the application for a new premises licence for 67 Church Road - The Botanist Coffee Co. 

I am a local resident and do not agree with a ‘cafe’ receiving a premises licence to serve alcohol for 12 hours a day. Especially when they have a capacity as they state of 40 indoors and ANOTHER 50 people outside. This is going to cause a huge nuisance. There a children in the immediate area and elderly who are already having enough of an issue with businesses like the gin tub and the amount of premises that already serve alcohol we do not need to add another to that list.

They state they are a cafe but want to serve alcohol until 10pm at night 7 days a week. They are then not a cafe and just another bar in our residential area. I noticed they also want to start serving alcohol at 10am in the morning - who is drinking alcohol at 10am? 

Not only this but the owner is a well known manager of multiple pubs in Brighton. I am not sure how this is going to do any good to our neighbourhood. 

I would also like to point out that they have not been displaying their notice correctly and notifying the neighbourhood in the correct manner.
